Health Technician (Telemetry)

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
Provides telemetry monitoring, identifies proper lead placement, and attaches electrodes upon admission. Cleans telemetry monitor/leads and places in appropriate storage area. Assists with the maintenance of telemetry equipment and supplies. Performs standard 12-lead electrocardiography (EKG), using a multi-channel EKG machine. Identifying basic rhythms and arrhythmias, providing appropriate communication to a Registered Nurse. Admits and provides patient orientation to the unit. Explains procedures to the patient. Reinforces patient education provided by Physician or Registered Nurse on infection prevention along with signs and symptoms of an infection. Irrigates and dresses wounds, maintaining a clean and sterile field. Performs bladder scanning, recording and reporting results. Assists with toileting needs as appropriate, including providing catheter care. Work Schedule:

One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes:
performing duties for a medical practice, assisting in the treatment of an outpatient care setting, providing patient education, and documenting patient data. -OR- Applicants may substitute education for the experience required for the GS-06 level. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have at least 9 semester hours of graduate education or an internship, but only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. Transcript Required. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
