Major duties include, but are not limited to:
Greets patients and visitors in a pleasant and courteous manner. Provides information and directions to patients and visitors including assisting with physical transportation of Veterans within the hospital and clinics. Provides transportation of Veterans to clinic appointments including general wayfinding. Answers calls politely and courteously, providing what is being requested in a timely manner. Assists patient with miscellaneous needs such as directions for service needs, waiting room, etc. Performing removal of Reusable Medical Equipment (RME) from patient room post use, and following correct procedures for cleaning and red bin removal. In room cleaning of non-removable RME. Performing room set up and supply stocking daily to ensure the exam rooms are stocked with supplies needed for exams such as dressings, ointments, bandages, etc. Performing room cleaning post visit, this would also include, checking garbage's, floors for items and contacting Environmental System Service (ESS) for additional cleaning if needed. May be called upon to assist with obtaining items needed, such as dressings, linens, etc. Work Schedule:

Duties require extensive periods of standing and walking. Working with residents requires regular and recurring bending, lifting (not to exceed 35 pounds), reaching, carrying, stooping, stretching and similar activities. Care duties are performed in an inpatient/resident-centered environment requiring normal safety precautions. Due to the essential functions of the job, the employee may be exposed to infectious waste, disease, odors, and other situations associated with health care, including but not limited to, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B, MRSA, and VRE. Universal precautions are followed at all times. While if completing kitchen responsibilities may be exposed to temperatures of refrigerators/freezers and ovens, as well as wet floors. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. GS-03 grade level:
Six months of general experience in any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or experience that provided a familiarity with the subject matter or processes of the broad subject area of the occupation. OR Applicants may substitute education for the experience required for the GS-03 level:
Successful completion of one year of study that included study in medical, health, or related fields. TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED. OR Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at the GS-03 level. To calculate, first determine the percentage of the 6 months' experience required; then determine the percentage of the one year of education that meets the requirement. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
